This treatment in detail
It is a non-invasive, injection-free skin treatment that is effective in treating skin ageing, densifying the skin and correcting certain imperfections such as acne scars or large pores.
Microneedling is suitable for all skin types, whether black or white.
In concrete terms, the Dermapen is used to make micro-perforations at various depths and speeds in the different layers of the skin.
What is the point of "perforating" the epidermis in this way? The small holes stimulate the synthesis of fibroblasts, the cells responsible for the quality of the skin. By adding serums specific to the client's needs, the block is reboosted, and the fibroblasts will produce more elastin and collagen, which will improve the skin's resistance and quality.
Secondly, these micro-perforations will, like any wound, activate the healing process of the epidermis, thus promoting cell renewal.
Serums, anti-ageing creams and other face care products will penetrate the skin better after microneedling, as the skin will have been aerated by the perforations.
This technique is rather unpleasant but not painful, unless you choose the deep treatment. In this case, small bleeding may occur and the pain is more intense. But don't panic, in this case, an anaesthetic cream is applied to the face a few minutes before the session.
To be really effective, you need at least four microneedling sessions, spaced out from 15 days to one month, depending on the skin's sensitivity.
Precautions to take when microneedling
In general, redness appears during and after the session. They fade away within 24 to 48 hours.
It is forbidden to wear make-up for the first 48 hours after the treatment and to avoid swimming pools, saunas and steam rooms for a week after the treatment. Exposure to the sun is forbidden during the first 48 hours and is also not advised during the 15 days after the treatment without maximum protection with protective creams.
Microneedling is not suitable for pregnant women, people on anticoagulants or anti-inflammatory drugs, people with autoimmune diseases or those with skin rashes (severe acne, herpes, eczema).
